Little history of my traditional cookies

We are now heading fasting month in less than 3 weeks.. I miss the air, I miss the atmosphere of Ramadhan, ........aaaannddd Momatoye cookies is come again!!

I've been baking for these traditional cookies since my 2nd year at college, almost 10 years ago.
What's the thing on baking that turned me on?
Well, its because i love to eat the cookies, when i celebrated Eidl Fitr at my home town * i forgot what year*, i was fell in love with sagu keju, uuuhhh its so yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmm!!
Until some guests came and one of them ate that cookies and we fell in love at the same cookies, and she TOOK it!! along with the can!! In the reason of politeness, what can i do?.. Since then, I decided to search sagu keju recipe and modify it until i got the perfect taste. People in my house can suddenly found me at the kitchen making it over and over again.. *determined*

I could not forget, once I made a cheesecake *which i never tasted, not even a single bite*, I was not that confident of what i was making because it calls for au bain marie method which i never knew what the H*LL is that! So I decided to put the cheesecake on the fridge, i didn't even have any guts to imagine what the taste is like. But the day after, i went for a drink i opened the fridge and its already gone! But then my brother said that it was REALLY DELICIOUS, hmmmm... always trust your self!

Ow ow, I remember, there was a time when i prepare for baking, my black cat named Yogen is around then sat to accompany me baking and she was interested on the flour in a bowl, and then she start licking it and her nose became all white! Hahahaha.. she's so cute! But now she's rest in peace, i love you Yogen....

After i got the best sagu keju recipe, my sisters ask me to make other traditional cookies, kaastengel and nastar. Basically i don't really like kaastengel because there is no kaastengel that sold on the market that can make me fall in love to it. Finding the right recipe is not easy and making it is really frustrating, tricky, if you want it to be crunchy most of the time it cracks easily, which i cannot sell and end up eaten by all the family members :D
Making nastar, it just a test of patience, hahahaha.. because you have to round the dough one by one, if you didn't do it right, it will cracked, really, it doesn't look nice. Funny thing is, i always hate when my dad was trying to help, because he cannot make a small round, he always make BIG, maybe because his hands is extra big too, but my judge *read: my mother* said it taste GREAT! So I had a time when I had a slogan "don't judge a book by its cover" hahahahaha..

After years, when i already knew that the look is as important as it taste *hahahaha*, I officially started taking order for the first time when I was at the 4th year at college, in my spare time doing my final assignment *and also officially hated my sisters and brothers who passing the kitchen keep on stealing my cookies*. Not bad, i can buy a new bed cover and buy new clothes :D

Well, its just a little history of me, besides my childhood experience on helping my mother's baking and cooking hobby, so this is me, at this age, now i love baking and cooking :)

Baking with Love,
